The Vice-president of the Confederation General of companies of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Jean-Marie ACKAH, invited this Wednesday, June 10 at the Ministry of industry and Mines to the Plateau (Abidjan), the Ivorian Government to resolve the problem of the monograph of industrial areas, the development of the activities of the private sector.
« The Ivorian private sector has agreed to engage with the Ministry of industry and Mines, in the context of this study, because we know that it will allow no doubt find a track of solution to the ever-increasing demand of industrialists have plots for the development of their activities, » said Mr. ACKAH at the launch of the study of OCCUPATION of the parcels of the industrial area of YOPOUGON, in the presence of the Minister of industry and Mines, Jean-Claude BROU.
The project is initiated by the Ivorian Ministry of industry and Mines, the CGECI, the Chamber of Commerce and industry Lebanese of Côte d’Ivoire (CCIL-CI) and the National Office of technical studies and development (BNETD).
According to the Minister, Jean-Claude BROU, this project which lasts for several years has been possible thanks to real partnership with the private sector, in particular the CGECI and the CDIC. He also explained that the State will invest 20 billion CFA FRANCS at the level of infrastructure, water and sanitation, to create and improve the business environment. Several reforms were made in this regard, inter alia, the creation of the Agency of management and development of infrastructure industrial (AGEDI), a Fund for financial resources and the creation of Trustees in each industrial area. « The increase in charges will return to businesses. Must everyone be committed », he added.
For the Director of Department industry and Mines of BNETD, Naomie KACOU, the objective of this mission is to carry out a study comprehensive and reliable occupation of soils in the industrial area of Yopougon (650 hectares). The project which begins by Yopougon Industrial Zone from June 15 and ends July 31st will be carried out through visits and surveys, with a team of 35 people. After this step, will follow the industrial areas of Koumassi (120 hectares) and Vridi (120 hectares). This is to identify exhaustively the occupants of industrial zones and their activities, determine the actual area occupied by operators and identifying undeveloped plots. Also, this will allow assessing and recording evidence of occupation of industrial land rights and develop a database coupled with cartographic information.
Facing strong demand for industrial land – more than 200 applications for industrial land by private instance-the Ministry of industry and mining operators needs to ensure optimum industrial of Yopougon and Koumassi land use. It must therefore have comprehensive, accurate and reliable information on the occupation of the soil in these industrial zones
